In the afternoon
of Jan. 15, the
first monthly KW
Chinese Focus
divine service
in 2017 was held
by Ev. Zhu,
assisted by Ev.
Truong and
Deacon Yang at
Margaret
Avenue church
with Bible text
: Revelation
1:17 And when I
saw Him, I fell
at His feet as
dead. But He
laid His right
hand on me,
saying to me,
“Do not be
afraid; I am the
First and the
Last.” The
Service was
followed by
Bible study of
Catechism Q&A
book. Our
retired D.Ap
Latorcai joined
us for the
service, Bible
study, and
potluck
fellowship.
During which, he
answered many
spiritual
related
questions and
shared his
personal
experiences of
faith.
At the same
time, total of
18 sisters and
brothers from
Willowdale
Chinese Focus
group gathered
at Frank and
Erin’s house to
have first time
Chinese bible
study in the new
year. Sister
Erin and brother
Frank’s house
was in
countryside,
surrounded by
trees. The
weather was cold
but it did not
stop the sisters
and brothers’
desire to learn
God’s words.
Sister Mei
hosted the bible
study by
referring to
Bible text:
MATTHEW 18 -21:
35: Then Peter
came to Jesus
and asked, “
Lord, how many
times shall I
forgive my
brother when he
sins against me?
Up to seven
times? Jesus
answered, “ I
tell you, not
seven times, but
seventy-seven
times…. ‘ This
is how my
heavenly Father
will treat each
of you unless
you forgive your
brother from
your heart.”
Through the
study, our
sisters and
brothers have
learned the
secret of
forgiving
others, which is
from God’s grace
as God forgives
men when men sin
against God. So
we also have
forgiven our
debtors. At the
end of the bible
study, sisters
and brothers
also practiced
pray for others.
The whole
session of bible
study was very
good.
